ESG statement

For WISER Group, ESG is not a separate corporate program, but an integral part of our operations. Our company provides services in the areas of occupational health and safety, fire protection, environmental protection, EHS management systems development and maintenance, as well as digital workplace solutions, building on more than 15 years of professional experience. Our goal is to help our clients create safer, more regulated and more sustainable workplaces, while following the principles of responsibility, transparency and continuous improvement in our own operations.

Our ESG approach is based on the belief that workplace safety, environmental responsibility and ethical corporate governance are mutually reinforcing factors. We believe that sustainability is not just a matter for large corporations, but should also be a fundamental part of the everyday operations of small and medium-sized enterprises. Accordingly, we integrate our environmental, social and governance considerations into our daily operations, customer service model, digital developments and business decisions.

Our mission is to use our expertise to make our clients' workplaces safer and more sustainable. It is also important to us to set an example of responsible, sustainable operations ourselves – this report is about that.

The purpose of the report is to transparently demonstrate what we are doing to protect the environment, our employees, and our ethical and responsible business practices. We believe that sustainability is not the privilege of large corporations, but is an achievable and important aspiration for all companies.

Thank you environmental protection

Environmental aspects (Environmental)

From an environmental perspective, WISER Group is built on prevention, efficiency, digitalization and responsible resource use. We minimize paper-based administration in our operations, support document management and approval processes with digital solutions, and hold a significant part of our training, education and meetings online, thereby reducing the number of trips. We prioritize local partners, selective waste management, and responsible management and disposal of electronic devices. If travel is unavoidable, we support public transportation, carpooling solutions and, where possible, assigning colleagues living close to the location to projects.

The scope of the ISO 14001 system is currently defined for the headquarters operations of WISER Group Kft. and the related direct administrative, engineering and consulting processes. The management of periodic, project-based work performed at external locations is managed according to separate project processes, customer expectations and operational rules, but these are not part of the initial system boundary. For the introduction, operation and development of the environmental management system Laszlo Kozak, Managing Director responsible for ensuring that environmental considerations are integrated into the company's decision-making, resource planning and development processes.

Environmental protection is not just a service for us, but an integral part of our operations. We continuously measure, evaluate and improve our environmental impacts, based on a system developed in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard.

Leadership commitment

László Kozák, the managing director and owner of WISER Group Kft., is committed to environmental protection and sustainability.
The following measures have been introduced in the company as a result:

  • Environmental considerations have been incorporated into business decisions.
  • Leadership example and commitment to environmental protection.

Selecting partners and suppliers

When selecting suppliers and employees, it is important to choose local partners, thus reducing emissions from commuting. In the case of our partners, we also try to work with customers who are committed to sustainable and environmentally friendly products and services.

Environmental education and training

We plan to organize an environmental and sustainability training for our employees and suppliers every year, which not only focuses on good environmental practices and sustainability measures related to their work, but also highlights the environmental impacts and good solutions of everyday activities.

Waste management:

  • Selective waste collection takes place both during home working and at project sites.
  • Electrical devices (e.g. used laptops, cables) are disposed of as hazardous waste.
  • Household waste is collected by local service providers, and we also strive to reduce waste (e.g. less packaging, reusable items).

Green measures:

  • Paperless operation: electronic signature, cloud-based document management.
  • Education and internal training on energy saving and sustainability.
  • Running a green website that uses low energy.

Emission reduction:

  • We conduct work online wherever possible (e.g. training, meetings).
  • We encourage our colleagues to choose public transportation or carpooling.
  • We delegate employees to projects who can work close to their place of residence.
  • As a longer-term goal, we plan to use electric vehicles, the first of which is already being purchased.
  • At the end of each year, we carry out climate compensation: we support afforestation projects based on the kilometers traveled.

Net zero

WISER Group’s net zero goal is to gradually reduce and, where possible, eliminate greenhouse gas emissions from our operations. Our primary goal is not compensation, but actual mitigation of emissions: by further expanding online service provision, reducing unnecessary travel, optimizing resource use and prioritizing cleaner mobility solutions. We aim to offset the unavoidable remaining emissions by supporting credible climate protection initiatives. As part of this, we compensate for the kilometers driven by our employees annually and support the planting of at least 200 trees through recognized domestic organizations.

Reducing harmful emissions:

1. Reduce travel

  • We support working from home.
  • We support carpooling.
  • Also provide accommodation for those who come from further afield so they don't have to drive a lot.
  • Occupational safety inspections of remote workplaces are also carried out online, via photographs and, in some cases, video chat.
  • Occupational safety and fire safety training can also be done online.
  • We also conduct meetings online, using some kind of meeting service.

2. Energy consumption

  • We do not maintain an office, we work mostly from home, thus minimizing the energy demand for heating and lighting.
  • Heating at home is provided by central heating systems, and air conditioning systems are used on construction sites, which are regularly maintained.
  • Our online infrastructure runs on green hosting, and we use energy-saving solutions (compressed images, caching, dark mode).

3. Climate compensation

The kilometers driven by WISER Group employees are climate compensated at the end of each year. This means that every kilometer driven is compensated by supporting climate protection projects.

We support the planting of 200 trees through the following organizations:

  • Foundation for Community Forests
  • 10 Million Trees Foundation
